– Lots of shade if you take the straight route by the river
– 4 different waterfalls along the way
– Very slow elevation gain
– Camping spots all over the place
This is a very popular place and the parking lot will get full very quickly. Suggest you go as early as possible because once you reach after 11 AM, you will be parking on the street. There are technically 3 larger trails that you can do in a full day, Iceline, Whaleback, and Twin Falls. Whaleback is part of the Twin Falls trail which brings you to the top of the Twin Falls and that does have a bit of elevation gain to it.
This is specifically for Twin Falls which although we deviated from the path a little bit to check out another trail which happens to be closed due to a washed out bridge. In general, a fit person can do this in 5 hours, to Twin Falls and back.
